Autodesk sketchbook review 202011/28/2023 ![]() ![]() stackable (sticky) panels (just like in photoshop or any other software you can stack full height tabs, currently I try to expand layers to full height of the screen on my Mobile Studio Pro but it only goes so high, and leaves a section at the bottom where I shove Color and Brush pucks underneath. Grid (an absolute must! Currently I have a template shoved under each new file, it is not sharp when zoomed in because of the resolution, so an integrated grid, which lets us set increments in cm, mm, inches, kilometers etc!) to have tabs, so I can have multiple sketchbook files open at the same time, very frustrating, currently have both desktop and windows 10 app so can open max 2x files). Tabs (like autocad, photoshop, illustrator, etc. Dark theme ( Just like Adobe software have shifted to dark themes, would like to see sketchbook boss version to have this feature). It becomes necessary then to switch to other solutions after using the drawing board.I am sure there a re plenty of individual posts that share some of bellow, but here is my list ans I hope you can pin this to the developers wall and keep as a reference. The color grading is not at the level that I need it to be. There's also what the program calls the "perspective grids" for cityscapes and the like.ĬONS: Sketchbook's strength lies in drawing, and so I'm afraid that it lacks support in other aspects. This is like assisted drawing on a digital canvas. The "French curves," in particular, are great for creating curved lines. This is basically like drawing on pen and paper, but only cleaner and with better scale and fit. It offers templates and vectors to facilitate faster and more accurate drawings as well. It has tools that mimic actual drawing materials. If this sounds like you, then I think that Sketchbook is worth exploring. This is best for those who have had ample training in drawing in pen and paper. This is why I often try to evangelize designers on the perks of Sketchbook. However, I think that the world of design is not just limited to Adobe tools. PROS: Photoshop and Illustrator might quickly come to mind when the words "design software" are mentioned. But as with anything, I got to know this program in time, and I now know its environment like the back of my hand. It's not easy to import and export media files here as well. I had a hard time understanding and perfecting my strokes. ![]() I have been able to produce precise drawings in no time thanks to Sketchbook.ĬONS: I can't say that I'm a novice when it comes to drawing and design, but Sketchbook made me feel frustrated about these skills at the start. ![]() This is thanks to the features included here that encourage efficiency. Other than the ability to properly visualize my work-in-progress, I can make headway in my tasks quickly too. This makes sure that the result is of the utmost accuracy. What more can I ask for? I can easily zoom in on an area that I'm working on. It offers the best blank canvas that any artist can ask for, and each stroke can be scaled to the right dimension too. There is no limit to what I can draw and dream up. This is a platform where I can absolutely let my creativity run loose. The Android and iOS apps offer a similar experience that travels with users wherever they go. The Windows 10 app helps unlock the drawing power of tablets and is optimized for touch input, resulting in a more natural drawing experience. The desktop version of the software contains all the advanced tools pros need to complete their projects faster and more intuitively. It’s user-friendly interface helps turn work into an enjoyable experience. Unlike other popular graphics software that claim to cover everything, SketchBook focuses on drawing and sketches and pays great attention to detail. A single subscription works for all devices and includes across the board updates. The software provides creative professionals with all the tools they need to effectively present their ideas in less time. It fully preserves layered PSDs during import/export including groups, names and blending models. SketchBook is PSD compatible on all devices and allows users to export their work in different formats, including JPG, BMP, TIFF, PNG and most importantly PSD. The Quick Tour windows demonstrates users the essentials in a creative way, saving them from reading lengthy manuals and spending a lot of time getting used to the software. This allows users to focus more on their work instead of being distracted by so many things opened at once. Users can easily turn the palates on and off, while the icons are also clear and properly represent their respective functions. The neat, tidy and intuitive interface makes drawing and painting more fun and enjoyable. ![]()
